In recent years, Zona has rebuilt its management team to focus the
company on new growth opportunities. The experience and successful business
backgrounds of the following management personnel and ownership testifies to
the stability and vision of our company:
Patrick Sherrill, President and CEO
Patrick became President and CEO of Zona Communications on November 1, 2006. Patrick's
primary focus in his work is to guide Zona in three primary charges; constructing and
operating a superior broadband network, delivering high-quality telecommunications
services, and providing the most innovative and customer-focused solutions in Zona's
marketplace.
Prior to leading Zona, Patrick served as Senior Director of the Southwest Region for
CHR Solutions, a telecommunications consulting company. In this role he was closely
associated with Zona as he helped support network planning, strategic direction and
business plan development. During his 12-year career at CHR Solutions, Patrick was
instrumental in identifying and fostering telecommunications business opportunities
for a diverse range of clientele, including residential home developers, entrepreneurs,
and Native American tribes.
Patrick has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics, Magna Cum Laude from Angelo State
University. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas
Tech University. He and his wife Amy have two young sons and reside in Surprise, Arizona.
Jenifer Vellucci, Vice President and CFO
Jenifer Vellucci joined Zona Communications in August 2007. Not only is she responsible for the day to day financial management of Zona, but is also highly skilled at evaluating and forecasting potential business opportunities.
Prior to joining Zona, Jenifer was the Accounting Manager at Mountain Telecommunications, Inc (MTI), a Phoenix based Competitive Local Exchange Carrier. From 1999 to 2002 she served as Staff Accountant and Assistant Site Manager for Local Communications Network, Inc. located in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Jenifer currently serves on the board of directors of the Arizona-New Mexico Telecommunications Association.
Jenifer has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Economics from College of Charleston. She also holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Baker College. Jenifer became a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Arizona in 2007, and is a member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Association of Professional Women. She and her husband Cliff have five children and reside in Avondale, Arizona.
Bernard Armstrong, Director of Network Operations
Bernie Armstrong came to Zona in August 2007 as Director of Network Operations and immediately
took charge of building and operating the most advanced fiber-to-the-home network in the State
of Arizona.
Bernie has over 30 years experience in the telecommunications industry, serving in a variety of
technical, educational, and operations management positions. He has developed networks involving
microwave radio, fiber optics, coaxial cable and satellite systems. His experience includes
services such as traditional and internet telephony, cable TV, satellite TV, and broadband
internet services to business and residential customers.
Bernie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Portland State University. He also
holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Gonzaga University. He and his wife Judy
have three grown children and two grandchildren and reside in Glendale, Arizona.
